Post by: whytrytofly on 29. April 2016, 12:23:54
Im using the current 16.04 release and in the start menu, the "Settings" menu contains a french and an engish expressions:

1) Gestionnaire de configuration d'Openbox
2) Privilege granting

Would be nice to change that. Does anyone how to change that locally, doesnt seem to be controlled via the rc.xml?

Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.

Those messages are in /usr/share/applications, files obconf.desktop and gksu-properties.desktop. You can modify them directly, as root, or better do a copy of them in your folder ~/.local/share/applications, and modify them as normal user.

For  more informations, see HERE (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Desktop_entries).

thanks for that quick reply. so in fact there should be some [fr] in front of the default name and some other languages need to be added, right?

Yes.

Name= must be changed into Name[fr]=

Name alone is generally for the default english language, but it disappeared.  :(
