Title: [SOLVED] Webcam Logitech C920 performance in OBS
Post by: Strit on 28. October 2015, 13:51:02
Hi all.

I just bought this Logitech C920 webcam, because it has gotten some great reviews and works with Linux out of the box.

My problem is, as I feared, that FPS performance is terrible. I mean, viewing the video from the webcam in something like OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) in 720p results in 10 FPS and 1080p in 5 FPS. I can get 30+ FPS at 320p and lower, but I want to use it to make videos, not just stream.

Is this because the OBS software does not support the h.264 stream coming from the webcam or what do you guys think?
Anything I can do, to speed up the FPS?

Alright.

I think I just solved my own problem.

There's a setting in OBS, called Video Format. It has to be set at YV12 (emulated). When that's set, I can get 1080p@30fps easy.

:)

It's just my own spin of Manjaro, changed some settings, theme and applications to better suit me. :)
