My fluxbox-project is proceeding... 8)
Made some progress with a custom theme, the menu and wbar with AwOken icons...
First testbuild should be available in one or two days for you to try and give some feedback :)
I think it's really cool how versatile and at the same time extremely slim this system is!

Starting to look good you could add personal favourites to the menu i,m not a lover of wbar and rox, can do the same just don't use rox as the default file manager, short cuts then can be added to the desktop look at antix it really looks professional like they do it.

That's xfce4-power-manager.

Looks very nice indeed!

If possible, I'd probably place the dock on the bottom and panel to the top, but that's just how I'm used to running things. Having dock at the side is probably more efficient use of space. Does it autohide?

Exactly, the reason to move it to the side was not to lose to much vertical space, and thinking that screens tend to be wide... ;) wbar can be set to autohide, yes. It could also be used like a dock with the open windows added... Anyway, configuration is really easy - there is even a GUI-tool for customization  :o ;D 8)

Fluxbox fan for well over 5 years now (http://forums.debian.net/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=49843&start=30#p287149).

It was my daily driver for some time and remains my preference on very low-end hardware.

Lightning fast on high end gear and modern looking in a retro way I use it along with Gnome on arch I must install it on Manjaro openRC as well.

I'm only slowly discovering now the full range of features...
slit / dock apps, tabbing, detached menus  :o I am really amazed!
And then you can really make it look up-to-date quite easily and once it is (pre-)configured it's as self-explanatory as any high-end GUI desktop. - how cool is that!?! :) 8)

Certainly the fairly extensive menu-based configuration, usable integrated panel and uncomplicated text configuration files, among other things, make it a very serious contender in the lightweight WM world.

I'm uploading a release candidate ISO (x86_64, unstable, systemd) right now to
manjaro-fluxbox-0.8.13.1-x86_64.iso (http://www.oberon.at/oberon/manjaro-fluxbox-0.8.13.1-x86_64.iso)
md5sum is here (http://www.oberon.at/oberon/manjaro-fluxbox-0.8.13.1-x86_64.iso.md5)
and the packages-list (http://www.oberon.at/oberon/manjaro-fluxbox-0.8.13.1-x86_64-pkgs.txt)
Please check if you find any problems and let me know what you think :)
If all is well I can produce stable install media in the next days.
I gave some more attention to the theme, the icons and window positioning and reviewed the list of applications again. I'm quite happy with the result.
The only things I was not able to solve, yet are the toolbar shadow that I could not get rid of - still looking for a possible window-match in compton.conf...
and then I would have loved to position wbar in a higher layer in the foreground but I doubt that this is possible. Just tried to work around the bar being hidden by defining an awful lot in the apps-file ::) ... ;)
This is how it looks now:

the detachable menus are fun! ;D

and here's with Menda-Dark and AwOkenDark:

Looks very nice, but...

Oberon, will you release a 32bit version? Or just thinking about it, maybe? :)

I like Fluxbox, but I'm on an old machine. :)

Thx.

The stable release will be available in 64 / 32 bit and systemd / openrc, aswell in a few days :)
