« Last post by theriddick on Today at 09:46:32 »
I don't understand why this package isn't showing up for me, yes multilib is enabled. I can't see any indication that its in testing or something. Can somebody help me out thanks.

Kernel & Hardware / external Harddrive eSATA doe not spin up
« Last post by Bienenmann on 01. April 2018, 12:41:31 »
Hello,

I encounter the following problem:
I attached an eSata harddrive to my PC. The eSATA connector is just a slot braket with eSATA-connectors, no additional controller. Internally, the cables are connected to the normal Sata board connectors.
If I turn the external drive on and start the PC, the disc spins up and is recognized by Manjaro.
If I start the PC and manjaro and THEN swith the drive on, it won't even spin up. If I disconnect the SATA-cable from the disc, it spins up.

Several months ago (about 12-18 Months ;) ) it worked fine. Then I made a complete reinstall of manjaro (changed from HDD to an SSD) and now I cant't get it working again. I did not change any Hardware and I tested several board SATA-connectors.
SATA is set to AHCI in the bios.

Does anyone have an idea?

Newbie Corner / Roughly when will the next major stable release be released?
« Last post by avamk on 12. January 2018, 01:33:09 »
Hello,

Next week I'll be re-installing one of my machines and would like to Manjaro XFCE edition. I vaguely recall that there is a new major stable release that might be in the release candidate stage. Is this true? Is so, does anyone know roughly when it will be released? Are we talking about in the next few days, a week, or a month? Thanks!

Newbie Corner / black screen at boot, how can i boot in consol mode ?
« Last post by mumut on 02. January 2018, 13:18:31 »
Hello everyone.
First sorry for my bad english (google translation inside):(

I aborted an update procedure from octopi at the package download stage.
Since, after the "manjaro" boot screen  (with the points belon), I have a black screen and then nothing.

In the Grub menu I removed "quiet splash" (in the linux line) to see where the problem came from but I have got the same things (a succession of lines with OK and then black screen).
I tried to replace "quiet splash" with "systemd.unit=multi-user.target"  in order to boot into text mode (as mentionned here : https://classicforum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=23749.0) but same problem (a succession of lines with OK then black screen).

Does someone have an idea ?

Kernel & Hardware / Buying new hardware, need help.
« Last post by grgaud on 12. December 2017, 20:36:29 »
Hi all,
I'm buying a new AMD mobo, socket AM4
with a Ryzen 7 1700 eight core CPU
8 or maybe 16 gig of DDR4 3200 RAM
and a GForce or Radeon graphic card

I was wondering if the hardware support will be there if I install Manjaro Gnome, my fave distro & DE?

I'd by a ready made PC, but they always come with Windows, but I hate Windows, it sucks.

P.S.      I BOUGHT THE HARDWARE AND INSTALLED MANJARO GNOME, ALL WENT WELL.
