[solved] LightDM and Keyboard Layout
« on: 24. August 2012, 10:04:12 »
Hi,
Here I am on Manjaro on my laptop.
For the moment nothing to report about system level.
A little bit slower than a pure ArchLinux but a little bit more functional too! ;-)
No problem with my network card phew ;-).

Only one problem, the session manager (lightdm I think), it offer to me the "fr" keyboard layout and only this one, which poses problems for me, with my be-latin1 keyboard I use some letter and specific character.

If someone sees how can I change my keyboard layout?
(I thought this would be resolved with /etc/vconsole.conf (since it was still configured fr but alas no, once it is properly configured nothing change).

Bye.

try to  put the correct layout in the file
Code: [Select]
/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-evdev.conf
this is my file with italian layout
Code: [Select]
#
# Catch-all evdev loader for udev-based systems
# We don't simply match on any device since that also adds accelerometers
# and other devices that we don't really want to use. The list below
# matches everything but joysticks.

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev pointer catchall"
        MatchIsPointer "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev keyboard catchall"
        Option "XkbLayout" "it"   <-----
        MatchIsKeyboard "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev touchpad catchall"
        MatchIsTouchpad "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev tablet catchall"
        MatchIsTablet "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Section "InputClass"
        Identifier "evdev touchscreen catchall"
        MatchIsTouchscreen "on"
        MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*"
        Driver "evdev"
EndSection

Ok I will try that.
But questions, for me it's just "be" or "be-latin1" ? (For belgian keyboard).

Ok ok, I have reply too fast I think:
3.6. Belgian
   Option  "XkbLayout"     "be-latin1"

Great it was the solution!
Thank's a lot  :D .

Just one think, for the Belgium Keyboard Layout, in that case it's just "be".

Bye.
