Post install. Cannot update.
« on: 16. September 2012, 18:12:34 »
Hey!

Just installed the XFCE version. I am not able to update it through 'pacman'.
I've enabled all the mirrors, but still not working.
I've also tried ignoring the package that's causing the trouble, but it does not work.

Yes, the first one is almost like yours minus the archlinuxfr thing.
The 2nd one is more up to date.

Just reinstalled it without the nonfree drivers, can't update!

Yeah, I've got the same problem.

I can still download software and other packages; just can't update the system due to the same reason as you. Literally didn't have this problem yesterday (I had to re-install).

May be changing the mirror will help. Disable one by one and enable again and try ?!

Manjaro is just born and is still not the final release friend. Give it a chance and post the errors we have may help this distros development. Anyway, it is surely your choice.

Make the mistake by quitting Manjaro ... use Arch and distributions based on ArchLinux but none has Manjaro Xfce speed ... you Bridge? ok go there but you know it's all a Arch finally Manjaro you'll see it's the best :)

We changed our repos, so it takes a while for all our mirrors to sync.

Sorry!

Could you please try it tomorrow again?

How could I use a broken Operating System?

Hardly "broken". I suspect it's just a temporary issue with the servers at the moment. Everything else works fine. I'd advise giving it a day or two. Otherwise, if something as small as this puts you off, just wait until you try and use an Arch-derivative that actually uses Arch servers!

Edit: wrote this while the admin posted about the repos - told you so!

Stick with Manjaro - it is a beautiful OS that I suspect will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. Plus, you can't find a better system to learn about Arch. I know this from personal experience.
