Manjaro-Tools tutorials
« on: 30. April 2015, 18:51:53 »
manjaro-tools is a collection of developer tools for manjaro. manjaroISO is deprecated and got replaced by the "buildiso" tool in manjaro-tools.

you can find general tutorials about manjaro-tools here:
https://github.com/manjaro/manjaro-tools
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Manjaro-tools
https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=20167.0 (outdated)

if you want to build your own ISO image of manjaro, there are even more tutorials available for "buildiso" only:
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Build_Manjaro_ISOs_with_buildiso
https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=31731.0
https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=21976.0 (outdated)
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Buildiso_with_AUR_packages:_Using_buildpkg (outdated)
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Buildiso_with_AUR_packages:_Using_yaourt (outdated - not recommended)

furthermore, there are tutorials available specifically for ISO profiles:
https://github.com/manjaro/manjaro-tools-iso-profiles
https://github.com/manjaro/iso-profiles (future location of profiles, not yet used)

spatry recently made a couple of videos of him building his manjaro spin. they explain of a lot, but reading the above mentioned links is still a prerequisite for understanding what he talks about:

Amazing. I wonder, "Gee, how do the profiles work on github?" and here's a tut! :)

Thanks, Excalibur. :)

base is -0.9.13rc1-any.  and iso is  ios -0.9.13rc1-1x86_64. currently

could I use 0.9.12 and if it works what would I do about the tools profiles are they available to match 0.9.12

added a link to spatrys video.
he basically explains how to burn a (virtual) system onto an ISO file and make it installable.
