Personally I'm not a fan of the metacity theme of Vertex. The buttons are to small (for my usability)  I'm planning on changing it for the Maia-manjaro theme. Something that blends in with the present window-title borders, something with the green in it (of course) and preferably slightly bigger buttons.

I'm calling out to you to present me with some idea's?

Arc's buttons are nice. Very modern, very girly.

@ManjaroCinnamonFan I believe a uniform 'cross-platform' appearance would be a 'smart' move for manjaro and this theme.  I have tried the original vertex in cinnamon and wasn't thrilled.  I like your version much better.  Bringing that look & feel to as many major DEs as possible will make the theme unique and to me, at least, attractive (read convenient).

Also as I have noted in earlier posts... old eyes always appreciate easy to read 'tools' and interfaces.

btw. I use the theme on xtce with Moka icons and it looks great....

Nice, I'll give it a try.
And here a thing that I could do, one by week, I guess: to start 'porting' some popular Manjaro themes for JWM. I guess I could fill this topic for a while: https://forum.manjaro.org/index.php?topic=30632.0 (maybe even split it in an 'Artwork' and a 'Tips and Hints' thread).

Does this answer your question? (Not exactly sure what you need to know... ;) )

This is the theme in i3 (with AwOken icons), so no window frames at all are presen, and as you see, just flat colors. The gtk3 frames have a gradient, in gtk2/xfce I think they are plain? Would have to check that on my other partition ;)
Maybe you should just see what happens in JWM! ;D

That would mean building a metacity and xfce theme and Gtk 3 too. I will look into the welder theme later

Well, I do not know how to fix that. Can't find anything that would explain this.
I think I found it: https://github.com/oberon2007/vertex-maia-themes/blob/master/Vertex-Maia/gtk-3.0/gtk-contained.css#L320 >:D

@oberon & @manjarocinnamonfan.... I hacked at the xfwm4 window images.  I think they are somewhat better than the originals.  Feel free to use them, if you agree.

Thanks, gents!

Sorry Oberon2007 but that wasn't the solution. It messed up (changed colors) allot of other buttons, but not the right one...

Still, the menda theme has a green button.  How did they fix it?

It is definitely somewhere in their gtk.css / gtk-main.css , because replacing vertex-maia's gtk.css does the job >:D :P
I was strongly suspecting the class .button.suggested-action in lines 543-574 (in vertex-maia) to be responsible but then didn't manage to make it work. Maybe I just made a stupid mistake at some point?
In any case in that section there still are some blues specified ... ;)

I've managed to weed out allot colour-issues, including the screenshot app. And even made a first attempt at a metacity theme.
Look at the screenshot.  Ported ambiance buttons to the vertex metacity, adjusted some colors.

You can find it here: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Maia-Manjaro+GTK?content=174942

@manjarocinnamonfan & @oberon....

Sadly @manjarocinnamonfan's new lay-out has problems in xfce.... see attached image.  The pixelization is back and there is something odd going on with the inactive window 'close button'.
