[Manjaro Post] Possibility to avoid double Post.

As i said, i DID check the forum then, when it wasn't there, i re-posted.  Low and behold, when i refreshed, there were two posts.

That method has always worked for me, in my experience when the timeout happens, the post is there when I check. I have never had to repost in my recollection......strange.

Why not simply allow users to delete there own posts?  (for the first 5 or 10 mins)
Most people tend to check their posts to see if they look ok, etc.  If they had made a duplicate they would see it and resolve the issue.

If you buy a ticket, there's a probability that you may will....still don't believe it's luck. Many ppl lose, some few win.

Agreed, better possibility of being struck by lightning I believe. Indeed, many ppl are struck by lightning....some multiple times even.

Hi,

The same thing as Marv happened to me, I got a timeout from the page and then, I saw two posts after refresh.

there is a simple way to avoid any and all double posting...

instead of simply clicking the "New Post" button, right click it and choose "Open in new tab" (assuming your browsers supports that, which as far as I know, ALL the current Linux Browsers do)

When the new tab opens, enter your post and click the post button.

Now switch back to the original tab and refresh the page, you WILL see your new post, and then you can simply close the tab where you entered it.

I ALWAYS use this method of posting, and I NEVER have any double posts, because I know if it posted or not (it always DOES post, but doesn't always show the new post unless you refresh)


And assuming that under some rare circumstance. you go back to the original tab and refresh and your new post ISN'T there, well the new tab you opened should still be open, and you can try again, without having to re-type anything... (although I have never had that happen in all my posts)

I'm curious as to why this is still an issue.

I am a newbie to the forum. How are noobs supposed to know that this issue exists, unless they scan the forum first (which generally they don't) for this thread? This happened to me.

I noticed when I just saw and read this thread that the first post was made over a year ago, yet the issue still remains. Is it a matter of needing help with the forum, its server, or something? If so I suggest a forum crowdfund because this really needs to be fixed.

Just my 2 cents.
