I've ran into a few issues :(
1) Compton use a lot of cpu power (nvidia driver)
2) splash screen non-existent?
3) plank and conky don't respond to icon theme changes

1) it's the reason for which it is not activated by default
2) i don't use plymouth because without it's lighter and quicker
3) i don't use both  ::)

Haha fair enough. It's still an awesome build though. Will try it on my laptop once my xfce HDD dies :)

if you want an overview of available Qt apps, have a look here:
https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=List_of_Qt_Applications

i also recommend not to install any kde4 apps (=kdebase-runtime). it is just ridiculously large.

Here's how to enable numlockx and disable dcreen saver

Numlockx
For those on desktop computers and want numlockx enabled at bootup.
I think numlockx package is included in 1604, but if not, install it.
Then go...  Preferences --> LXQT settings --> Sessions Settings --> Autostart --> Add -->
Code: [Select]
Name = Numlockx
Command=/usr/bin/numlockx
Wait for system tray = check
Reboot to take effect.

Disable Screen Saver
o Preferences --> LXQT settings --> Session Settings --> Basic Settings --> Uncheck Power Management
o Preferences --> LXQT settings --> Power Management --> Disable All Tabs
o Open up /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/90-mhwd.conf
Set false in "DPMS" "false" at Monitor section
Code: [Select]
Section "Monitor"
Identifier   "aticonfig-Monitor[0]-0"
Option     "VendorName" "ATI Proprietary Driver"
Option     "ModelName" "Generic Autodetecting Monitor"
Option     "DPMS" "false"

Add this to file below Monitor section
Code: [Select]
Section "ServerFlags"
# disable low-level screensaver and screen DPMS poweroff
    Option "BlankTime"  "0"
    Option "StandbyTime" "0"
    Option "SuspendTime" "0"
    Option "OffTime"  "0"
EndSection
Reboot to take effect.

Well, not as easy to fix as in Openbox/Fluxbox (Kde/Plasma easiest) but fixed nevertheless.

For the screen saver, you can't disable that by power management ?

It's based on openbox, so it must be the same or simpler.

No, this doesn't work. Try it. Within 13 minutes, screen will blank out.

I had tried all these while. Finally found this solution.

What I had been doing before this is to put a bash and manually run it when I start lxqt.
Putting this bash in start up also won't work. I had tried lots other things too, but had to manually bash it.
And as I said, I can do this automatically in Openbox and Fluxbox, even though all (including LXQT) use openbox, but not in LXQT.

thanks for the tip with the screensaver, i will test it in a couple of hours and report back.
have you reported that bug on lxqt's github page?

about numlock: there is a setting since lxqt 0.10, which works on my system: Main Menu --> Settings --> LXQt Session Configuration --> Keyboard and Mouse --> Keyboard --> ...
if that does not work, here is a guide about numlockx: https://wiki.manjaro.org/index.php?title=Minimal_LXQt_installation#Activating_Num_Lock
before lxqt 0.10, i just added "numlockx on" command to the autostart. "on" is the default value, but "numlockx off" and "numlockx toggle" work, too.

Yes... numlock..... there had been many versions of lxqt and some have different methods..for example..

But I guess each iteration of LXQT has improvements and changes which is good and I thought maybe we let LXQT 'settle down'. It the beginning stage, these might not be 'bugs' but developmental stages. But you may be right, this screensaver thing can be considered a bug. Wonder what Escapion think? After all, he's the head honcho here on this.
Cheers.

I do not know where it comes from.  ??? There is no screensaver integrated lxqt.

I read this afternoon a jwm user complaining about the same thing. So, I think to a common part.

Hope you find it. If there's anything you want me to test, just let me know.
Thanks and good luck.

Trying pacman -Syu from 16.03 installation, it doesn't turn into 16.04 :/
Do I need full reinstall?

The substance of the distro are the packages. Just take a look at the Stable Updates thread, download the list of updated packages and compare it with your package versions. If you see no difference - everything is alright.

I check lsb_release -a output, it's still 16.03 even after yaourt -Syua + reboot.

the title of this thread refers to date of release of the latest manjaro lxqt.

people, who do not have the latest prerelease version of manjaro installed probably see "15.12" when they do a lsb_release -a.
that number is just not important. manjaro is a rolling release and you have the latest version whenever you do a "# pacman -Syu".

if you want to use the themes and settings of the latest manjaro release, just create a new user on your system.

I just knew this fact. I thought whenever pacman -Syu (when there's an update batch of course) is done, it's also updated. But apparently not, good to know.
