QupZilla 2.0.0 released with QtWebEngine!
WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30, 2016
QupZilla 2.0.0 is now available. This is a new major version of QupZilla and also brings great changes. The biggest change is the switch of rendering engine, from old and unmaintained QtWebKit to shiny new QtWebEngine!

QtWebEngine is using Chromium to render web pages which brings much better compatibility with web pages and also great stability (thanks to multi-process architecture).

There are big changes (both architecture and API-wise) between QtWebKit and QtWebEngine, so porting of QupZilla took some time. There are also still features from QtWebKit not available in QtWebEngine, so some QupZilla features may not be available in new release. Those missing features will come back in next releases of QupZilla and QtWebEngine.

QupZilla now depends on latest Qt release (Qt 5.6) to be able to use all QtWebEngine features.
http://blog.qupzilla.com/2016/03/qupzilla-200-released-with-qtwebengine.html

I tried Qupzilla and Otter Browser on qt5-webengine some time ago, but wasn't convinced. No right-click on links or copy in context menu was available. Looking forward to see how it improved.

I installed Qupzilla a few months ago (in the current stable avalaible version: 1.8.9) and I'm pretty satisfied with that. It's not so complete as firefox or chromium are, but  It "just" work.. and it's eating the half of the ram memory.
Interesting to have this new incoming release.

That's why I like it, too. But I'm a bit afraid that it will become entirely different after the update. More like Chromium.

qupzilla 2.0 webengine-base is available in AUR. But it adds webengine to the ISO.

I've been using Qupzilla for a few days now. Very impressed. Except for the "no fullscreen" when I'm on YouTube

I think this is more of an HTML5 player issue, the same thin happens in firefox and chrome

I've been comparing QupZilla and Rekonq, where the former wins in speed and the latter wins in memory consumption. When QupZilla 2.0.0 hits stable repo, I'll be sure to repeat the test.
